Rev Velma Campbell, BSc(Hons)

Tel Dartford 634959

Velma joined us in September 2012 from the Harrow & Hillingdon Circuit where she was stationed from 2006. Before coming into the Ministry she studied part time through the North Thames Ministerial Training Course, Southgate, London, and at Wesley House, Cambridge after a career spanning secretarial work, behavioural therapy and social work.

As well as being our Minister and figurehead she also has responsibility for three other local churches in our North Kent Methodist Circuit – The Brent, Spital Street and Sutton at Hone Methodist Churches.

With such a varied career Velma brings a wealth of life experiences and spiritual guidance to us particularly in listening and Pastoral Care to all age groups. Being down to earth and approachable, she can relate to people from all walks of life. She is able to get alongside people enabling and encouraging them to discover their talents and build confidence.

Velma uses many different styles of worship in her preaching in our weekly services, which is complimented by our other Circuit Ministers and Local Preachers who lead services when she is preaching elsewhere. We therefore have many different styles of service to enjoy throughout the year.

Velma was born in Jamaica and moved to England as a child. She is a mother of three adult children and lives with her youngest daughter Shara.

We look forward to welcoming old and new faces at all our services.
